New Sensations

New Sensations is a painting series inspired by the One Hundred Ghost Stories Picture Scroll, which records phenomena encountered by the young Samurai Ino Heitaro in Hiroshima Prefecture.
The works explore forms in transformation – hybrid, reaching, multiplying.
Rooted in a mythological imagination and filtered through contemporary trauma and a longing for sensitivity, they move between body and spirit, memory and mutation, presence and afterimage.
